Accounting Manager

Summary

About this Opportunity 
We are seeking a professional who will be responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Director of Compliance and other Accounting Managers in all areas of the accounting process.
• Reports to the Controller supervises the restaurant bookkeepers and provides insight to the General Managers on operational profitability issues.
• Corporate accounting responsibilities include managing large databases using complex applications of Excel, Great Plains, ADP Payroll, point of sale, and various service-provider portals.
• Assists with timely and accurate financial reporting as well as internal and external audits
• Responsible for achieving compliance with applicable regulations and accounting principles
• Support Accounts Payable with invoice coding and processing
• Manage monthly Insurance deduction worksheets for all locations
• Manage Gift Card Liability, Reconciliation, and Breakage Analysis


Responsibilities

Position Requirements 
Requires an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR minimum five (5) years of directly related work experience. Strong detail-oriented analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, point of sale systems, Great Plains general ledger, accounts payable and management reports. Excellent communication (verbal and written), team building and multitasking skills. An expert on how analytical software tools can turn voluminous data into valuable information.



Qualifications and requirements

• Able to read, speak and understand English, and to follow printed and verbal instructions in English • Strong communication skills and able to work cooperatively with employees of other departments• Requires a clear articulate speaking voice and the ability to project over the telephone a friendly, courteous and cooperative personality• The ability to listen attentively, to “read” the callers moods and to respond and reply in an appropriate and professional way• Requires accounting background in bookkeeping and cash handling procedures of at least one year; and a demonstrated competency in mathematical calculations and accounting procedures • Able to accurately and quickly count, sort and record large sums of money and change, and to accurately calculate and post daily sales and cash figures• Ability to master high tech telephone apparatus, fax and copy machines, credit card authorization machines, automated time clock, computers and typewriters• Able to bend, kneel, reach, squat, climb stoop, use keyboards of various types; to lift and carry up and down stairs supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and to place these supplies on high shelves; also to lift, carry up and down stairs and store money bags weighing approximately 5 pounds, and change boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds• Work productively and cooperatively in a high volume, fast-paced, highly pressured environment and able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crises • Use sound judgement and reason in analyzing and solving accounting problems, decision making, and managing people • Hazards include, but are not limited to, excessive eye strain and possible lifting injuries *While this Job Description reflects the actual functions of existing jobs, the list of “ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS” is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
